Across Europe and globally, women remain underrepresented in environmental leadership and decision-making. At the same time, young women are emerging as some of the most powerful voices advocating for the protection of our planet.
To help bridge this gap, five organisations from Poland (HELIOS), Spain (IROKO DFS), Portugal (ASN), Brasil (RENCTAS) and the Netherlands (NP2E) have joined forces to create The Amazons Project. Its main goal is to inspire and support young European women in becoming environmental leaders.
Interested candidates (women aged 18–30) must apply by scanning the QR code or visiting the project website. The selection process seeks motivated individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds who are eager to develop leadership skills in nature conservation.
Once accepted, participants join a curated international online community starting in Spring 2026. This stage focuses on connecting with peers from Poland, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, and Brazil, and staying updated on project developments.
Mentees work directly with an experienced mentor throughout 2026. During this phase, you will develop a tailored Personal Development Plan (PDP), pilot project educational materials, and participate in the selection process for the 2026 ECO Inspiration Award.
At the conclusion of the learning phases, mentees receive a Youthpass Certificate. This is a validated European document that formally recognizes the competencies, leadership skills, and international collaboration experience gained during the programme.
The journey culminates in a one-week international training conference in Kraków, Poland, scheduled for November 2026. Selected members will gather for an intensive week of networking, exchange of experiences, and collaborative growth with the wider international network.
Connect with mentors, collaborate on projects, and find your tribe of GreenLeaders. Your journey to impact starts with a single connection.
