Who we are

Amazons: Empowering European Girls to Become Environmental Leaders (Erasmus+ project)

The Amazons: Empowering European Girls to Become Environmental Leaders project is co-funded by the European Union under the KA220 – Cooperation Partnership in Youth programme. Its mission is to address the systemic barriers that often prevent girls and young women from fully participating in environmental conservation and climate action leadership.

The project combines research, policy advocacy, educational resources, mentoring opportunities, international exchanges, and inspiring role models to create new pathways for female leadership in the environmental sector. By equipping participants with practical skills, leadership competencies, and a strong support network, Amazons aims to empower a new generation of women capable of driving meaningful ecological and social change across Europe and beyond.

Message from the Consortium Behind GreenLeaders' course

Education’s purpose is to replace an empty mind with an open one.

GreenLeaders has been developed and is maintained by the Amazons project consortium, bringing together organizations from Poland, Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Brazil that share a common vision of a more inclusive, sustainable, and environmentally responsible future.

Our partners combine expertise in environmental conservation, youth engagement, women’s empowerment, education, research, and international cooperation to create high-quality learning experiences and opportunities for future environmental leaders.

Together, we believe that empowering young women with knowledge, leadership skills, and an international community is essential for building a more resilient and sustainable world.
